On Wednesday evening, Israeli forces shot and killed a young Palestinian man near Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

Media sources reported that soldiers opened fire on a young man at the military roadblock in Saddet Al-Fahs, at the southern entrance to Hebron, fatally wounding him.

They added that the soldiers sealed off the area, preventing Palestinian medics from reaching the scene, before taking the young man’s body to an undisclosed location.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that the General Authority for Civil Affairs had informed them of the killing of Abdul-Fattah Ahed Ahmad Al-Hreibat, 20, by Israeli soldiers near Hebron.

The Israeli military claimed that the young man had carried out a car-ramming attack against its forces stationed at the checkpoint before exiting his vehicle and attempting a stabbing attack, prompting soldiers to open fire and “neutralize” him—a term frequently used by Israeli forces and Israeli media when referring to the killing or wounding of Palestinians.

Following the incident, Israeli forces invaded the town of Doura, southwest of Hebron, storming Al-Hreibat’s family home.

The soldiers detained dozens of his relatives, subjected them to severe beatings using their boots and rifle butts, and conducted field interrogations.

This year, Israeli soldiers have killed 135 Palestinians, including 24 children and 5 women, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

Amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has continued since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and paramilitary have intensified operations across the West Bank, resulting in the killing of more than 960 Palestinians, injuries to nearly 7,000 others, and the arrest of 16,400 individuals.

In the Gaza Strip, Israel has now killed at least 52,653 Palestinians, and injured more than 118,897, largely children, women and elderly, since October 7, 2023.
