For the 39th consecutive day, Israeli forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and for the 26th day on the Nur Shams refugee camp. The aggression includes military reinforcements, house demolitions, and infrastructure destruction.
On Thursday morning, the occupation forces began demolishing several homes and residential buildings in the Al-Manshiyya neighborhood of the Nur Shams refugee camp.
This followed a notice issued the previous day to demolish 17 homes under the pretext of constructing a new road aimed at altering the camp’s geographical features.
The targeted homes belong to the Hamad, Elian, A’mar, Shehab, Shalabi, Younis, Ghannam, Masharqa, Alajma, Abu Sha’la, and Sa’aida families.
The occupation forces gave the homeowners a two-hour ultimatum to enter the refugee camp and evacuate their belongings, while simultaneously obstructing them and firing live ammunition to intimidate them.
Since the beginning of the occupation’s aggression, the Nur Shams refugee camp has witnessed continuous escalation, with repeated house demolitions and raids after blowing up doors, forcing residents to flee their homes, turning them into military barracks, and causing extensive destruction to infrastructure and properties, including homes and shops that were demolished, blown up, and burned.
In recent days, the Israeli military bulldozers have demolished more than 11 homes as part of a plan to construct a road extending from the camp square to the Al-Manshiyya neighborhood.
In the Tulkarem refugee camp, the army continues its tight siege, preventing entry and exit, deploying foot patrols around the camp and its alleys, raiding empty homes, and vandalizing and destroying their contents. At night, residents were forced to leave their homes in the Al-Matar neighborhood after it was surrounded and invaded.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli military bulldozers continue to level streets and properties, closing entrances and alleys with earth mounds, including the main northern entrance of the refugee camp, which is witnessing unprecedented destruction in all aspects of life.
In this context, the Israeli forces brought in military reinforcements accompanied by a fuel tanker to the city and its refugee camps, positioning themselves in front of residential buildings they have seized on Nablus Street, which connects the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, obstructing the movement of vehicles and citizens.
The occupation army also continues to seize several homes in the Thannaba and Izbat al-Jarad neighborhoods, east of Tulkarem, after invading them and forcing residents to leave, turning them into military barracks and sniper positions.
The army brought in several armored vehicles from their military roadblock at the southern and eastern entrances of Tulkarem, stormed the town of Anabta and the southern entrance of the city, patrolled the streets, and then returned to the checkpoints.
The ongoing aggression on the city and its camps has resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant, in addition to the injury and abduction of dozens, and the forced displacement of more than 9,000 people from the Nur Shams camp and 12,000 from the Tulkarem camp.
In related news, the army invaded Illar town, north of Tulkarem, searched homes and abducted a young man.
