Palestine was unanimously elected as vice chair of the European Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG), for the current year, and chair for 2020.

The Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunications said, on Thursday, that the vote took place during the EMERG plenary assembly held in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some 30 members from the European Union, Middle East and North Africa region attended the assembly.

Ma’an reports that Palestine will succeed Bosnia as chair of the organization in 2020.

EMERG was established on July 1, 2008, in Malta, as an independent platform of National Regulatory Authorities for Electronic Communications Networks and Services.
