Troops attack holy site gourds in Jerusalem and detain civilians during home invasions in the West Bank. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Three Palestinian security guards of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, were assaulted and detained by Israeli police on Wednesday, as hundreds of right-wing Israelis and settlers took to the holy site in celebration of “Jerusalem Day.”
Jerusalem Day is celebrated by the ultra-right religious Zionist community to commemorate the 1967 Israeli annexation of occupied East Jerusalem, the same day which Palestinians remember the “Naksa,” meaning “setback,” referring to the mass displacement that accompanied the Israeli takeover of the Palestinian territory.
Moreover, Israeli soldiers abducted, overnight and until morning hours Wednesday, at least fifteen Palestinians in various parts of the occupied West bank, and confiscated large sums of cash from several homes in Hebron city, in the southern part of the West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers claimed the Palestinians, who were taken prisoner in Hebron, are members of Hamas, and that the army illegally confiscated 20.000 Jordanian Dinars.
In addition to Hebron city, soldiers invaded and ransacked homes then abducted civilians from the northern West Bank cities of Nablus, Tulkarem, and Jenin in addition to Jerusalem and Bethlehem cities, local sources reported.
Later on Wednesday afternoon, Israeli forces, on Wednesday, detained two Palestinian minors near the Israeli Salem military camp to the west of Jenin, said local sources.
Israeli army detained two minors aged 16 and 17, from Jenin refugee camp, while they near the Israeli Salem military camp, sources added.
