On Thursday morning, a Palestinian man succumbed to serious wounds he suffered a day earlier after Israeli soldiers shot him in Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.

The soldiers shot Mohammad Farid Thawabta, 51, with live fire in the abdomen, causing serious wounds, before he was rushed to a hospital in Bethlehem.

Medical sources at Beit Jala governmental hospital said Thawabta underwent surgery but soon succumbed to his serious wounds.

The soldiers shot Mohammad, who happened to pass by a home they surrounded to abduct a Palestinian.

Many Palestinians protested the invasion before the soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs randomly, wounding several Palestinians.
