Israeli soldiers injured, Wednesday, fourteen Palestinians, including two young women, in Sebastia town, northwest of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, after the army accompanied dozens of illegal colonists into the archeological site.
Mohammad Azem, the mayor of Sebastia, said the soldiers invaded the town to accompany the colonists into the archaeological site in the city, leading to protests.
He added that the soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades at the protesters and surrounding buildings.
Fourteen Palestinians suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation, including two young women, identified as Sadiqa Mousa Sha’er and Sidra Mohammad Sha’er, who were moved to a local hospital for further treatment.
Sebastia is subject to constant Israeli invasions, especially when the soldiers and the illegal colonists enter the town to drive to the archaeological site.
During these invasions, the soldiers block all Palestinian traffic, in addition to frequently storming homes, abduct Palestinians, and attack protesters, in addition to removing the Palestinian flag.

Dozens of Israeli settlers, under the protection of occupation soldiers, invaded the archaeological area in the town of Sebastia, leading to protest, the Jerusalem (Quds) Press reported.
Eyewitnesses stated that Israeli troops opened fire at Palestinians who resisted the invasion of the historic site, located north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel rounds, sound bombs, and tear-gas canisters, which caused fourteen Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear-gas inhalation, two of whom were transferred to hospital for treatment.
The Mayor of Sebastia, Mohammad Azem, released a press statement announcing the incursion of dozens of colonial settlers under military protection while restricting access to the site by Palestinian citizens.
