After the seventh day of the ceasefire came to an end, and after Israel refused to extend the humanitarian truce, the Israeli occupation army resumed the intense bombing of several areas and homes in Khan Younis and west of Gaza City, Rafah, and various parts of northern, central and southern Gaza Strip, causing dozens of casualties, including several fatalities, among them children.

Dec 1, 2023 at 09:08: Al-Jazeera correspondent Wael Dahdouh, who lost several members of his family, Dahdouh, including his wife, his son, and his daughter, during previous Israeli bombings on Gaza, said the first Israeli strikes, which effectively ended the truce, targeted Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The missiles targeted homes and building in Abasan town, east of Khan Younis, among other areas.

Several Palestinians were killed and many injured, mainly women and injured by Israeli missiles and shells.

Two infants, both girls from the Al-Baltaji and Lulu families, were killed by Israeli missiles in the Asqoula area and the Sheja’eyya neighborhood in Gaza City.

Media sources said the army fired many missiles at homes and buildings in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.

The sources added that the army also fired many artillery shells at homes, buildings, and lands in the middle of Gaza City and said it is expanding its military offensive on the ground.

In addition, Palestine TV said the Israeli war jets fired missiles targeting buildings and streets near the Nasser Hospital, in Khan Younis.

The Israeli bombing also targeted many homes west of Gaza City while the army also fired barrages of live fire into the city’s various neighborhoods.

Also, the Israeli Air Force fired at least one missile at a home in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli war jets and drones could be heard and seen all over the Gaza Strip, especially the southern areas of the Gaza Strip, after the army claimed: “Hamas violated the truce by firing a rocket at nearby Israeli settlements.”

The Israeli allegations were made despite clear and serious violations of the truce since November 24, including the killing of a Palestinian man in northern Gaza Thursday.

The allegations came despite an offer from Hamas to release more Israelis in the next four days in exchange for extending the truce.

Also, in clear statements made Wednesday by the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, he said that the Israeli offensive would continue, adding that he had already “signed off on plans to begin the next phase of the bombings” on Gaza.

Al-Jazeera English said the Gaza Strip is “under heavy and even aerial bombardment by the occupation forces, and in the coming hours, we might witness a surging increase of the number and the rate of the Israeli strikes across the territory.”

Al-Jazeera added that the Gaza Strip, now under a new wave of Israeli bombardment, will witness even more devastation and destruction of all means of life.

Since the truce took effect on November 24, the Israeli army committed numerous violations, firing at civilians while trying to return to their homes or inspect the damage and salvage whatever they could, causing several casualties.

The Israeli army fired live rounds and shells at Palestinians in several areas west of Gaza City, especially the Nasr, Tal Al-Hawa, Sheikh Radwan, and Sheikh Ejleen areas.

On Thursday evening, November 30, a Palestinian succumbed to serious wounds he suffered in northern Gaza, bringing the number of Palestinians who were killed by the army since the temporary truce began on November 24 to four.

On November 26, the army killed a Palestinian farmer and injured another while working on their lands east of the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

On the first day of the truce, the soldiers killed two Palestinians and injured many as they tried to return to their homes in northern Gaza after heading back there from the southern areas.

It is worth mentioning that at least 15,000 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and more than 4.000 women, were confirmed killed by Israeli forces, and more than 36000 injured Palestinians, mainly women and children, the 50-day-long bombardment of Gaza, starting October 7.

During the seven-day truce, the army released 147 imprisoned Palestinian children and 63 women, most of whom were abducted after October 7.

The army also abducted more than 260 Palestinians in several parts of the occupied West Bank, including the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the same timeframe, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) and the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee have confirmed.
