On Saturday July 5, 2025, day 636 of Israel’s genocide against the people of Gaza, and day 108 since the Israeli military violated the ceasefire agreement on March 18th (the ceasefire held only 51 days, from January 25th through March 18th, 2025, when Israel resumed its wholesale slaughter of the besieged and imprisoned Palestinian civilian population in Gaza), Israeli forces dropped bombs on the al-Mawasi ‘safe zone’ for the fourth day in a row, killing dozens of civilians. This was just one of the numerous bombings and shellings carried out Saturday by the Israeli military against the starved, besieged and unarmed civilian population of 2.3 million people imprisoned inside the Gaza death camp.
Intense Israeli shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip began early in the morning Saturday and continued through the afternoon and into the evening — as has been the case every day in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
In addition to bombing civilians in tent camps and so-called ‘safe areas’, Israeli forces also bombed Gaza’s desalination plant Saturday morning.
Today’s massacres followed a series of massacres committed by Israeli forces on Friday, which mainly targeted starving civilians trying to obtain food from the ‘Squid Game’ style gladiator arenas set up by the US-based Christian Zionist corporation “GHF”. More than 70 Palestinian civilians were killed on Friday, many of whom were starving aid seekers trying desperately to compete for a bag of flour or a few cans of food to bring to their starving families in the makeshift camps of the displaced.
Since May 27th, when the US-based Christian Zionist company “GHF” took over aid distribution in the Gaza Strip, replacing 400 distribution sites with just 4 ‘Squid Games’ style arenas where Palestinians are forced to wait many hours, then fight each other for small scraps of food, massacres at the so-called ‘aid sites’ have become a daily occurrence, with an average of 30 – 50 Palestinians killed each day, with at least 600 Palestinians killed in these ‘gladiator arenas’ since May 27th, 2025. These attacks have increased in recent days as the Israeli-funded gangs have been given more weapons by Israel to strong-arm aid and sell the aid for incredibly exorbitant prices.
On Saturday, Israeli troops killed at least 9 Palestinians competing for scraps of food in the ‘Hunger Games’ style gladiator arena set up by the US company GHF.
The Middle East Eye reported Saturday that a former CIA officer is behind a mercenary company operating in Gaza, backed by a network of influence including figures linked to the UAE.
Also, Carl Skau, the World Food Programme’s Deputy Executive Director, reported from Gaza that 500,000 Palestinians are facing starvation, with people now risking their lives to get their hands on a bag of wheat flour. “The entire population is acutely food insecure,” he added.
The following attacks were documented by local sources in Gaza on Saturday:

This war left more than 193,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and a famine that claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children .
Also Saturday, doctors in Gaza warned that hundreds of babies are at risk of death due to a severe shortage of baby formula, as Israel continues to restrict humanitarian aid. “They’re just skin and bones. It’s horrifying,” said Dr. al-Farra, describing the condition of malnourished children arriving at hospitals in Gaza.

Hope for a ceasefire:
From Wafa news: In the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, a shy expression of joy appeared on the faces of displaced people, amid growing talk of an imminent temporary truce in the Gaza Strip, ending months of bombing, displacement, and human suffering .
Citizens in Gaza, especially the displaced who left their homes more than twenty months ago, are waiting for any glimmer of hope that life will return to some semblance of normalcy, away from the sounds of explosions and the lack of shelter, food, and medicine.
Rahaf Abu Khater (13 years old), displaced from the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis, gave her mother the key to her old room. Despite knowing that their home was completely destroyed, the girl still holds onto hope of returning and aspires to return to school after the war deprived her of two years of education .
Rahaf says she misses her toys and her simple life before the war, and is waiting to return with her father, who was arrested for six months while returning from his work inside the 1948 territories before the war. Now he is trying to reorganize their life in the tent that shelters them .
As for Rahaf’s cousin, Mohammed, who is no more than ten years old, he hopes that the war will end so that his mother can travel abroad for treatment after being injured by shrapnel that confined her to the hospital bed. He hopes that she will be allowed to travel abroad for treatment before it is too late and she becomes completely paralyzed.
He says that losing his mother would be the hardest thing for him – he just wishes to see her return to their home and cook for them as she used to.
Mohammed entrusts his wish to human rights organizations, asking them to help expedite his mother’s travel to receive treatment before it is too late.
Hope remains and the timer is stopped until a ceasefire is officially announced and everyone is able to return to their homes and set up their tents in the ruins of their houses .
One displaced Palestinian, Barakat Abu Daqqa (59 years old) expressed his hope that the war would end soon so that he could return to his hometown of Al-Farahin, whose homes were completely destroyed .
Abu Daqqa said: “I had hoped to return to my home, which was destroyed two months ago, to spend the rest of my life there, far from the tent life and the suffering that lasted during the war, which we hope will end forever .”
