Tulkarem siege update:
Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil said that the Israeli occupation army insists on continuing its aggression by carrying out demolition operations targeting (104) buildings in Tulkarm camp, disregarding the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to freeze these orders earlier .
Governor Kamil said in a press statement Saturday evening that the occupation forces’ continued implementation of the demolition orders, despite an official decision by the Israeli Supreme Court to freeze the orders, represents a blatant challenge to international law and all international norms and conventions, and a clear violation of human rights laws .
He stressed that this behavior exposes the falsity of the so-called justice system of the occupying state, and proves that targeting our people is a systematic policy that is not governed by law or regulations, but rather is run by the logic of force, racism, and aggression .
Kamil said: “What is happening in Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps is not a passing event, but rather an ongoing crime that is added to the occupation’s record, and confirms that the occupation government is continuing its open war on the Palestinian existence and on the will for life and dignity that our steadfast people cling to despite all the circumstances .”
He stressed that Tulkarm camp will not be broken, and that our people will not submit to the bullying of the occupier, nor recognize the legitimacy of those who demolish homes and force citizens to flee, emphasizing that this aggression will only increase our people’s resolve and steadfastness .
Kamil also renewed his call to the international community and relevant actors to urgently intervene to stop this aggression and ensure the return of our displaced people from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps to their homes with dignity and safety .
He concluded by saying: “We send a clear message to the entire world that demolition will not intimidate us, aggression will not silence our voices, and Tulkarm camp, as well as Nour Shams camp, will remain and remain steadfast, and our people are greater than oppression and forced displacement.”
Area targeted for destruction by Israeli authorities:
The ongoing Israeli siege on Tulkarem has so far resulted in the deaths of 14 civilians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens of people have been injured and arrested, and widespread destruction has affected infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles .
The escalation has led to the forced displacement of more than 5,000 families from the two camps, representing over 25,000 citizens. It has also led to the complete destruction of more than 600 homes and the partial damage of 2,573 others. Meanwhile, the entrances to the two camps remain blocked with barriers, transforming them into almost lifeless areas .
