On Tuesday evening, Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian patient at the Beit Hanoun (Erez) terminal in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Media sources said the soldiers abducted Ahmad Abu Awwad while returning to Gaza after receiving treatment at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in occupied Jerusalem.

They added that Ahmad managed to obtain a permit from the Israeli Authorities to leave Gaza and head to Jerusalem for treatment; however, for unknown reasons, he was taken prisoner on his way back home.

There have been dozens of cases where Palestinian patients, workers, or merchants were abducted at the Beit Hanoun crossing while leaving the coastal region, although their applications to leave Gaza were approved by the Israeli occupation authorities.
