The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported, Friday, that American surgeons, in cooperation with Palestinian counterparts, managed to remove a bullet from the head of a Palestinian baby, who was shot with a live Israeli army round.

The Health Ministry stated that the Americans surgeon, in cooperation with the Palestine Child Relief Fund, conducted the surgery at Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus, in northern West Bank.

The surgery was successful, without any complications, and the infant was discharged and sent home.

Palestinian Health Ministry, Dr. Mai al-Kaila, saluted the excellent work of the surgeons, and all the work of Palestine Child Relief Fund, and added that the close cooperation between the ministry and the fund has been very beneficial as they managed to bring hundreds of surgeons and specialists to perform various types of surgeries in the Palestinian hospitals.

It is worth mentioning that the baby was shot near her home in the al-Mazra’a village, northwest of the central West Bank city of Ramallah. She was shot while sitting on her mother’s lap, and remained in the intensive care unit for three weeks before her surgery.
