Media sources said that, on Tuesday night, four Israelis were injured as a result of an alleged stabbing attack in the city of Tel Aviv, two of whom were moderately wounded, and two others sustained mild injuries; while the alleged perpetrator was shot dead at the scene.
The slain young man accused of the attack was later identified as Abdel Aziz Qadi, 29, a Moroccan resident of the United States who entered Israel just days earlier on January 18.
Sources added that the alleged perpetrator of the attack was shot and killed by an Israeli police woman in civilian clothes.
The Arab 48 News website quoted Israeli reports which stated that at least one of the Israelis that sustained injuries was a soldier who participated in the genocidal military onslaught in the Gaza Strip.
The same source quoted a statement by the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas, who said “The tide of resistance will continue and increase as long as the occupation and its crimes and aggression continue.”
The resistance movement added that the stabbing operation is a “natural response” to the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank.
In a statement by Moshe Arbel, the Israeli Minister of Interior, said border patrol officers at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, recommended that the accused perpetrator not be allowed into Israel.
Arbel added that Israeli authorities “referred him for investigation to the security services, which unfortunately decided to allow him to enter.”
In response, the Israeli General Security Service (Shabak) said, “Upon the aforementioned person’s entry into Israel, a security assessment was conducted, which included questioning him and additional procedures, and at the end of which it was decided that there was no information that would require preventing his entry for security reasons.”
In the same context, a Palestinian, identified as Saleh Yahya, 19, from the city of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the West Bank, was shot and killed after allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv on Saturday, seriously injuring one Israeli.
