Lawyer of the Nafha Society for Defending Detainees Rights and Human Rights, reported on Tuesday that the Israeli Authorities released on Monday evening reporter Amjad Zamil after one-year imprisonment.Zamil, from Ein Beit Al Ma’ refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, was kidnapped by the under-cover forces after they shot him twice at the entrance of the camp.
In a phone interview with Nafha, Zamil stated that after his injury and abduction, he was only hospitalized for two days, and was transferred to Petah Tikva interrogation center.
He added that he was interrogated for forty days before he was transferred to Gilboa’ prison.
Zamil was repeatedly arrested by the army and spent nearly four years in prison.
The Nafha Society reported that over the last several days, Israel issued 17 administrative detention orders against several detainees who are detained without any charges or trial.
The Society added that detainee Mohammad Khanafhsa, from Kharsa town near Hebron, received his fifth consecutive administrative detention order.
