Five Palestinians have been reportedly wounded on Wednesday morning after the Israeli army shelled a house to the east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip.

Medics confirmed that five residents were admitted to the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis and that one of them was critically wounded.

Witnesses said that three of those wounded were Hamas fighters, as the Israeli army shelled the abandoned house of Jamil Abu Anza, who is based in the Abbassan Assaghiera village in the eastern parts of Khan Younis city.

Witnesses added that an Israeli army contingent, made up of tanks, incurred earlier on Wednesday into Khan Younis.

Israeli army bulldozers began razing vast areas of Palestinian-owned farm lands in the area, as the Israeli tanks were firing heavily, apparently as a cover for the bullzoers.

The eastern parts of Khan Younis, which are located at the Gaza-Israel border line, have been recently exposed to a series of Israeli army attacks and invasions.

Israeli army attacks on Gaza come on the heels of Egyptian-mediated ceasefire efforts, as chief of Egyptian intelligence, is visiting Israel this week to convey a Hamas-proposed ceasefire offer.

Israel had already rejected the Hamas offer as ' a maneuver by ruling Hamas party to rearm and reorganize' after recent fighting with the Israeli army.
