Israeli soldiers assassinated, on Wednesday, the leader of Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas in Jenin, and shot injured five other residents, one seriously, after invading the city and surrounding a building.
The fighter was identified as Zayed Suleiman Mousa, 28; he was wanted by the Israeli security and survived several assassination attempts.
Mousa was injured after exchanging fire with the soldiers who surrounded the Jenin District Court building, in Al Basateen Street, in the center of city.
One Israeli soldier was injured in the gun battle. Army source claimed that soldiers shot and killed Mousa after he fired at the troops and injured the soldier.
At least five residents were injured, including Jihad Al Sayis, 24, who was seriously injured after suffering a live round in his chest.
A medical source in Jenin reported that resident Khaled Waleed Yousef, 15, suffered a live round in his right foot, resident Ahmad Ali Sammoudi, 16, was injured by a live round in his right leg, Mohammad Nabeel Sarahna, 18, rubber-coated bullet in his right foot, and Issa Ahmad Darweesh, 18, suffered a rubber-coated bullet in his left arm.
