Israeli soldiers displaced, Tuesday, ten Palestinian families from their homes, in the Jordan Valley of the occupied West Bank, to conduct military training.
Human Rights activist, Aref Daraghma, stated that dozens of soldiers invaded the al-Burj and al-Mayta Bedouin villages, and displaced the families to conduct military drills.
He added that the families were forced out of their dwellings and communities, and had to leave the area while the soldiers conducted their training.
There are more than 65.000 Palestinians living in their communities in the Jordan Valley, which sits on approximately %30 of the occupied West Bank.
After Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967, it started building and expanding its illegal colonies, by displacing the Palestinians, and gaining control over vital areas, including springs and fertile lands. Now, more than 11.000 Israeli colonists reside in the Jordan Valley.
The army designated around %46 of the Jordan Valley as a closed military zone and has been using their lands and communities for training, which are also carried out as a pretext to displace the indigenous Palestinians and occupying their lands.
It is worth mentioning that about 6,200 Palestinian citizens live in 38 communities, marked by Israel as for military use; the residents need to obtain permission from the Israeli authorities to enter or live in their communities.
These measures violate International Law, especially since the Palestinians are temporarily displaced numerous times, in addition to the ongoing illegal confiscation of Palestinian lands, and the demolition of homes and entire communities.
The Israeli military drills are frequently carried out in the occupied West Bank, and near Bedouin communities in the Negev, resulting in displacing the families in addition to the dozens of casualties, including fatalities, due to explosives dropped by the army during training.
