The Israeli acting Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, formally appointed Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, from Kadima party, as a Foreign Minister instead of Silvan Shalom, who resigned along with three other Likud cabinet ministers this weekend.

The Israeli Ynetnews reported that Olmert now retains control over five ministries: the prime minister’s office, interior, treasury, industry and welfare.
 
Six other Kadima ministers will be appointed; Zeev Boim will be holding two positions as housing minister and agriculture minister, Roni Bar-On as science and infrastructure minister, and Yaakov Edri as health minister and minister in charge of developing the Negev and Galilee, the Ynetnews added.
 
Also, tourism minister Avraham Hirchson received the communication post besides his current one.
 
Meir Sheetrit, transport minister will also be education minister, and Gideon Ezra, the Internal Security Minister, also became the environmental affairs minister.
