On Sunday evening, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said it intercepted Israeli war jets bombing areas in the southern parts of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam said it fired surface-to-air missiles at the Israeli fighter jets firing missiles into one of its training camps and farmlands in Khan Younis and Rafah.

Al-Qassam said the Israeli strike did not lead to casualties and added that, besides the surface-to-air missiles, the fighter fired several shells.
The Israeli army claimed its Airforce fired missiles at what it called “a rocket production site and a trunnel” in southern Gaza and added that Hamas fighters fired anti-aircraft at the Israeli fighter jets.
The army stated that it attacked Gaza in response to a shell allegedly fired from the coastal region into an area in the southern part of the country.
On Thursday, Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian near the perimeter fence in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
On Monday evening, the Israeli Navy released six Palestinian fishermen, including four injured by the Israeli fire.
According to information and interviews collected by Al-Mezan Center For Human Rights, the navy ships fired dozens of live rounds at the Palestinian fishing boats at approximately 11 at night and surrounded two boats carrying six fishermen, Ahmad Salah Miqdad, 34, Tayseer Yahia Bakr, 32, Mahmoud Yahia Bakr, 35, Jawad Yousef Atiya Abu Ghanem, 53, Mahmoud Yousef Atiya Abu Ghanem, 37, and Rami Ezzat Sa’id Bakr, 44, before abducting them.
The attacks are part of constant Israeli violations against the Palestinians, especially the fishermen, farmers, shepherds, and workers in the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip, and resulted in dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to severe property damage and the confiscation of many boats after abducting the fishermen.
In March of 2021, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said Israeli mines were responsible for an explosion that led to the death of three fishermen.
