RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 25, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities have seized 193 dunums of Palestinian lands in the village of Al-Auja, in the occupied West Bank province of Jericho, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
Muayad Shaaban, the Head of the Commission, said that the occupation authorities confiscated the said area under the pretext of “public interest,” adding that this will embolden Israel’s control over planning in the confiscated area, thus denying Palestinians their right to construction and growth in the lands confiscated.
He added that while the occupation authorities claim they are seizing Palestinian lands for public interest, only Israeli settlers will benefit from this confiscation, while Palestinians will be denied permits for the construction of homes or any other facilities.
