On Saturday, Palestinian researcher in detainee’s affairs, Abdul-Nasser Ferwana, said the Palestinian administrative detainee in Israeli prisons, Khader Adnan, is ongoing a hunger strike he started on February 5th, 2023.
Ferwana stated that the detainee remains determined to continue the hunger strike he started 62 days earlier, protesting his continued arbitrary Administrative Detention without charges or trial.
Adnan announced his strike from the moment of his arrest on February 5th, and throughout this period, he was held in the cells of the “Al-Jalama” detention center, and he was subjected to systematic abuse, harsh detention conditions, and he also faced great pressure by the Israeli occupying forces.
In March, Adnan was moved to the infamous Ramla prison clinic, which lacks basic medical supplies and physicians.
It is worth mentioning that Adnan, from Arraba town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, was imprisoned by Israel 12 times and spent about eight years in the occupation prisons, most of which were under administrative detention.
In the year 2004, Adnan held a hunger strike for 25 days, followed by 66 days in the year 2012, 54 days in the year 2015, and 58 days in the year 2018.
The detainee is a married father of nine children (1-14 years of age) with a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics.
