Israeli forces invaded the West Bank city of Nablus and its two refugee camps and randomly shot at residents’ homes Friday at dawn. Palestinian security sources in the city reported that several army jeeps and one bulldozer entered the old area of the town and Balata and Askar refugee camps and fired sound bombs and live rounds at residents’ homes. Local residents reported that troops also attacked shops, searched them and damaged their belongings.
Since last week the Israeli army has been invading the city of Nablus and its surroundings on a daily basis, arresting people and conducting wide scale search campaigns in the city. One was killed earlier last week during these invasions. Palestinian resistance fighters said that they detonated a roadside bomb near an army vehicle in Balata Refugee Camp during the invasion. The army reported no injuries.
