On Monday, Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian near Osarin, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, following an alleged stabbing that seriously wounded an Israeli colonizer.
Update: The Palestinian was later identified as Mahmoud Mohammad Arabi Moshin, 34, from Qabalan.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) said the soldiers killed Mahmoud in his home. It added that the soldiers surrounded and isolated the area before taking Mahmoud’s body and leaving.
Israeli sources alleged that a Palestinian drove to the “Maoz Yehuda” colonial farm between Osarin and Awarta, southeast of Nablus, and stabbed an Israeli colonizer, seriously wounding him. The colonizer received treatment at the scene before being taken to a hospital.
After the reported stabbing, the Israeli army besieged several Palestinian towns and villages around Nablus, deployed troops across the southeastern Nablus area—particularly around Awarta and Osarin—and established additional military positions while searching for the alleged assailant.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics received reports that a Palestinian had been shot with live fire, but the army prevented them from reaching the scene in Qabalan. Israeli media sources later reported his death.
The soldiers also fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at Palestinians in the area, causing several injuries.
The army alleged that soldiers later located the Palestinian near his car outside Qabalan, southeast of Nablus, and that he attempted to stab them before the unit commander opened fire.
The incident occurred amid intensified Israeli military operations and colonizer attacks across the occupied West Bank, including invasions, abductions, attacks on Palestinian communities, and damage to homes and infrastructure.
Earlier Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded dozens of Palestinian communities across the territory and abducted numerous Palestinians, including former political prisoners, a child, and Osama Nakhla, a university student activist in Ramallah in the central West Bank.
In the northern West Bank, illegal Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinians in the Abu Al-Hamra area south of Beita, near Nablus, injuring residents and damaging farmland. Colonizers also vandalized electrical infrastructure between Beita and Osarin, causing power outages in nearby communities.
Israeli forces also invaded communities in and around Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarem, Tubas, Ramallah, Hebron, and occupied Jerusalem, breaking into homes, abducting Palestinians, and installing military roadblocks.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Omar Muhammad Tubasi, 20, was killed Sunday night after Israeli colonizers shot him in the head.
Four days earlier, Israeli sharpshooters killed Khalil Rasem Abu Alia, 16, and Omar Mohammad Naji Al-Naasan, 19, as they confronted a colonizer attack in Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Israeli soldiers and illegal paramilitary colonizers have killed 98 Palestinians, including 26 children and six women, in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the year, according to figures from the Shireen Observatory.
The 98 fatalities include 22 Palestinians in Ramallah, 20 in Nablus, 20 in Hebron, 11 in Jerusalem, nine in Jenin, six in Tubas, three in Bethlehem, three in Qalqilia, two in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, one in Salfit, and one in Tulkarem, according to the Observatory.
