On Sunday, a group of illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinian students heading to their schools and colleges, near Jericho, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said the colonizers invaded the Arab Al-Mleihat Bedouin community and attacked a Palestinian bus transporting schoolchildren and college students.
The colonizers closed the road before attacking the bus and assaulting the students, including many schoolgirls.
Arab Al-Mleihat is subject to repeated violations by the colonizers and is one of many communities in the area that witnesses many attacks and invasions by the Israeli army and the colonizers.
In related news, a group of paramilitary Israeli colonizers invaded Palestinian olive orchards in Kafr Malek village, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and forced the Palestinian families to leave their lands in the Khallet Sour area, in the eastern part of the village.
The colonizers chased the families and threatened to shoot them if they did not leave the area.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
