The Israeli occupation military’s sustained offensive on the northern West Bank governorates of Jenin and Tulkarem, now entering its 200th consecutive day, has resulted in the killing of 58 Palestinians, the injury of hundreds more, and extensive destruction of homes and infrastructure.

The Refugee Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) stated that the death toll in Jenin and Jenin refugee camp has reached 44 individuals, including children, over 217 days of continuous military operations. Hundreds have been wounded in the process.

The department’s statement highlights that the offensive has triggered ongoing forced displacement for over seven months, affecting approximately 22,000 residents from the refugee camp and surrounding areas. An estimated 25% of Jenin’s population has been uprooted.

The number of abductions in Jenin has surged to 250 since the beginning of the onslaught  in late January. Additionally, the military operations have deprived 2,000 students of access to education.

The statement notes that Israeli forces continue to alter the geography of Jenin refugee camp by opening and expanding roads and demolishing entire neighborhoods.

Over 650 buildings, comprising hundreds of housing units, have been demolished, leading to near-total collapse of the camp’s infrastructure.

Approximately 70% of Jenin refugee camp has been destroyed, creating a new geographic reality marked by fragmented neighborhoods, newly carved roads, and the complete breakdown of basic services.

The offensive has also led to the closure of 72 schools across Jenin and Tulkarem since the start of the second academic semester in February, denying 26,000 students access to in-person learning.

The statement describes Jenin and its camp as having been transformed into a war zone amid continued international silence.

In parallel, the Israeli military continues its offensive in Tulkarem and Tulkarem refugee camp for the 213th consecutive day, and on Nur Shams refugee camp for the 200th day.

The death toll in Tulkarem has reached 14, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured or abducted.

The ongoing offensive has resulted in the complete destruction of over 600 homes and partial damage to 2,573 others.

In Nur Shams alone, more than 48 buildings have been demolished. Roads carved through the camp have fragmented its neighborhoods and caused widespread urban devastation.

The statement further reports the destruction of approximately 300 commercial establishments and extensive damage to residents’ personal property.

The offensive has also halted education for 2,000 students following the closure of UNRWA schools in Tulkarem and Nur Shams.

More than 5,000 families, over 25,000 individuals, have been forcibly displaced, rendering the area a humanitarian disaster zone.
