A Palestinian man was killed, and ten others were injured on Thursday after Israeli forces opened fire outside their declared deployment zones in central Gaza, in continued violations of the “ceasefire” announced in October 2025.

Medical sources told Anadolu Agency and local Palestinian outlets that Mohammad Salim Dabbash was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in the Az‑Zarqa area northeast of Gaza City. He was transferred to the Baptist Hospital in central Gaza.

In Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, three Palestinians, including two children, were wounded by Israeli gunfire in separate incidents.

Al‑Baba stood over their shrouded remains, performing the funeral prayer as he bid farewell to his children — twins he had waited years to have — before laying them to rest.

In additional attacks across the Strip, three more Palestinians, including a woman, were injured when Israeli forces opened fire in multiple locations. Soldiers shot a man in Jabalia, a woman in Beit Lahia in the northern Strip, and another man in the al‑Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.

Local medical sources reported that over the past 24 hours, hospitals in Gaza received the bodies of four Palestinians recovered from the rubble, along with five injured individuals, while many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings and in the streets.

Ambulance and rescue teams continue to face severe obstacles preventing them from reaching affected areas.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defense, told Al Jazeera that nearly 8,000 bodies remain under the rubble based on ongoing recovery operations.

He added that more than 3,000 people are still missing, with no information on whether they are alive, dead, or detained, noting that hundreds of bodies have decomposed or disappeared during months of bombardment and delayed recovery efforts.

Since the “ceasefire” took effect on October 11, 2023, the number of Palestinians killed has risen to 591, with 1,583 injured, while 724 bodies have been recovered from destroyed areas.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed more than 72,049 Palestinians and injured 171,691, while destroying 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure. Reconstruction costs are currently estimated at around $70 billion.
