Five Palestinians, including two children, were killed, and many were injured, Sunday in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip despite a “ceasefire,” medical and media sources in Gaza said.
An Israeli drone attacked a group of residents near the telecommunications junction in Gaza City’s Rimal neighborhood, killing 28-year-old Mohammad Atef Arafat Sukkar and wounding others. The casualties were taken to Shifa Medical Center in Gaza City.
Another drone attack targeted a vehicle in western Gaza City, killing Yousef Aqila and his eight-year-old daughter, Wafa’, and wounding six other people, some seriously, according to medical sources.
Later Sunday, 19-year-old Hassan Ali Saqallah, a Gaza City resident, died from a gunshot wound sustained near Palestine Stadium and Al-Mamounia School.
Israeli artillery also attacked Sakina School, which was sheltering displaced families in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, killing seven-year-old Saadi Ghalia and wounding others.
Separately, a six-year-old girl was wounded by Israeli gunfire east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Another girl was wounded in an Israeli drone attack on her family’s tent in the Da’wa neighborhood, north of Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip.
Two other Palestinians were wounded by Israeli forces near a site sheltering displaced families east of Hamad City, north of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said hospitals across the territory had received 17 wounded people over the previous 24 hours. It added that five Palestinians had been killed in Gaza City and Deir al-Balah on Sunday, while an unknown number of victims remained under rubble and in roads because ambulance and civil defense crews were unable to reach them.
The Health Ministry said the cumulative Palestinian death toll since October 7, 2023, had risen to 73,651, while the number of people wounded had reached 174,592.
The ministry said that since the “ceasefire” began on October 11, 2025, Israeli attacks had killed 1,344 Palestinians and wounded 4,481 others, while rescue teams had recovered 826 bodies.
