On Sunday, Israeli occupation forces continued bulldozing Palestinian farmland and uprooting olive trees along both sides of the Jenin-Nablus Road near the village of Wadi ad-Daouq, south of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Abdul Nasser Al-Hwaiti, head of the Wadi ad-Daouq Village Council, said Israeli bulldozers began leveling lands from the Arraba roundabout toward the village entrance, targeting agricultural plots located on both sides of the road.
He stated that the army bulldozed sections of farmland and uprooted olive trees along more than 50 meters of the main road, adding that approximately 27 dunams of land have been affected so far.
Al-Hwaiti said Israeli forces specifically targeted farmland adjacent to the roadway, causing substantial damage to farmers.
He added that the destruction comes as the annual olive harvest season approaches, noting that olive cultivation is a major source of income for many Palestinian families. The uprooted trees, he said, were mature and productive.
During the past week, Israeli forces also bulldozed lands and uprooted hundreds of olive trees along the road connecting the towns of Arraba and Ya’bad, south of Jenin.
On August 6, Israeli authorities issued six military orders requiring the removal of trees and vegetation from 310,868 dunams of land in the towns and villages of Ya’bad, Arraba, Anza, and Ajjah in the Jenin governorate. A separate military order authorized the seizure of 3,536 dunams belonging to the town of Marka.
The orders targeted lands along the Arraba-Ya’bad and Jenin-Nablus roads, in addition to areas near the main entrance of Ya’bad and lands in Anza and Ajjah.
The bulldozing and uprooting come amid escalating Israeli violations against Palestinian farmland throughout the Jenin governorate, including land confiscation and the removal of trees. These measures threaten farmers’ livelihoods and inflict significant economic losses on rural communities.
