Israeli soldiers bulldozed on Tuesday a road in Huwwara town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The Mayor of Huwwara, Mo’een Abdul-Karim Damidi, told a reporter of the Palestine News and Info Agency, WAFA, that military bulldozers destroyed the road that was recently paved at a cost of $400,000, linking Huwwara and nearby areas.
The army did not notify the municipality declaring its intention to bulldoze the road or stating the reasons behind this assault.
WAFA said that the destruction of the road led to the total isolation of eight Palestinian homes and more than 1,000 dunams (approximately 247 acres) of Palestinian farmlands. It will also lead to preventing the city council from providing services to residents in the area.
