Palestinian medical sources reported Friday [June 28 2013] that a young Palestinian man was shot in the chest by a live round fired by Israeli soldiers invading the Qalandia refugee camp, south of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.The sources said that the young man, in his twenties, was moved to the Palestine Medical Center in the city, and was immediately moved to surgery.
Local sources in Qalandia stated that clashes took place between dozens of local youths and Israeli soldiers who invaded the camp from different directions.
The army fired rounds of live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and gas bombs. A number of residents have been treated for effects of teargas inhalation.
