At least eight civilians injured during clashes with Israeli soldiers in different parts of the West Bank. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
A number civilians including journalists and foreigner activists were wounded by Israeli forces during a protest which closed the entrance of Adam illegal settlement, near Ramallah, Thursday.
The protest was meant to commemorate the first annual anniversary of 16-year-old Muhammad Abu Khdeir (16) who was kidnapped and burnt alive by settlers from the Adam settlement, after dawn prayers near Jaba’ village, north-east Jerusalem.
Protesters closed down the entrance of the settlement, while Israeli forces opened fire on them, wounding some. Soldiers were reported to have also savagely beat the participants, using pepper spray and sound grenades.
The protest was coordinated by the popular struggle coordination committee, and the PLO movement in Jerusalem. Soldiers have closed the Jaba’ checkpoint for people travelling from Ramallah towards the south.
On Thursday at dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded the Deheishe refugee camp, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, kidnapped two Palestinians, and wounded several others; one of the kidnapped residents was among the wounded.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers were deployed in various neighborhoods and alleys in the camp, before an undercover unit invaded the home of Walid al-Jafari, 23 years of age, and kidnapped him, after violently searching the family home.
The abduction of the young Palestinian led to clashes between the invading soldiers and local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles at them. The army fired rounds of live ammunition, in addition to gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets.
At least three Palestinians, were wounded, and one of them, identified as Raghad Shamroukh, 20 years of age, was also kidnapped.
Also on Thursday at dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded, on Thursday at dawn, Yatta town, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and handed demolition orders against a home, and a water well. Soldiers also invaded the nearby Beit Ummar town searched homes and summoned two Palestinians for integration.
