The Executive Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza confirmed, on Wednesday, that the Rafah border crossing suffers from the lack of basic humanitarian conditions.
It was stated, according to Al Ray, in a press conference following an inspection tour in the terminal, ” I came, this morning, to Rafah, to check the performance and the effects of closing the sole … crossing to the world, at Gaza. And, what I saw there made me feel ill.”
He added, ” I met some patient cases waiting for years to travel. Also, students who are stuck because they can’t leave the Gaza Strip, despite having the necessary documents to join their universities, so they may lose their chance to complete their study.”
