Israeli media sources said Tuesday that a senior PA official embezzled millions of US $ before moving to live in Jordan.
The Jerusalem post newspaper failed to name the official, but said was a close aide to late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.
The post also said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked the Palestinian Attorney General to open an investigation in the matter, and that the PA will demand that the government of Jordan hand the official back to the PA.
Abbas also asked the attorney general to open investigation in similar cases against three top finance ministry officials. ÂÂ
