Wednesday at night, an Israeli military source reported that soldiers recovered 11 pipe bombs after detaining two Palestinian youngsters at a flying checkpoint near the West Bank city of Qalqilia.

The youngsters were transferred to the Israeli security for interrogation.

“The youngsters were driving a rented vehicle near the settlement of Hermesh, and were taken by surprise by soldiers waiting in a white Toyota,” a military source said.

The source added that the two youngsters exited the car and waited on both sides of the streets for Israeli motorists.

According to the military, soldiers foiled several attempts by Palestinian youth to smuggle explosives, especially in northern West Bank areas.

Also on Wednesday, soldiers arrested a 17-year-old youth from the village of Qaffin, near Tulkarem, after claiming he was attempting to smuggle explosives and a knife.

In the Gaza Strip, several residents were arrested on Wednesday evening, near the settlement of Morag, in the Gaza Strip; army claims they were carrying 150 bullets, no further details were revealed.
