Palestinian security officials presented, on Monday, their Israeli counterparts with the plans prepared by the Palestinian Authority for the upcoming Israeli withdrawal.

P.A security officers will be deployed in the Palestinian areas in order to prevent sniper fire, Qassam homemade shells, and in order to block the Palestinian residents from entering the settlements following the Israeli withdrawal.

According to Israeli sources, this meeting of security coordination is the first of its kind since last month.

Israeli army commander of the Gaza Division, Brigadier General Aviv Kochavi, headed the Israeli delegation, while Palestinian Deputy Interior Minister, Jamal abu Zeid headed the Palestinian delegation.

Kochavi warned the Palestinians that the army will ‘be forced” to respond if the resistance fired homemade shells at the settlements.

A second coordination meeting is expected to be held within a few days, an Israeli source reported.

Also, Israeli Civil Administration officers and senior figures from the Palestinian civil coordination office, toured northern West Bank areas slated for evacuation.

The Palestinian and Israeli delegates decided that alternate routes should remain opened to the local Palestinian residents during pullout.
