Israeli soldiers arrested Haya Mohammad Hoshiyya, 25, in an attempt to put psychological pressure on her detained husband, the Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported on Thursday.

Ayed Kahleed Hoshiyya, 33, the husband of Haya, was arrested recently by the Israeli army and transferred to al-Maskobiyya detention facility. The Israeli security authorities claims that Hoshiyya is a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The society stated that soldiers tied up Haya, forced her against the wall, and took pictures of her in an attempt to impose psychological pressures on her husband.

Soldiers also brought her to the interrogation rooms and placed her in front of her husband, who was tied up and badly bruised as a result of torture.

Haya was also confined to solitary for eight hours before she was released.

Ayed is currently under what the Israeli authorities call “military interrogation”; when a Palestinian detainee is placed under military interrogation, lawyers are not allowed to meet visit him.
