Israeli soldiers killed, on Sunday, a Palestinian fighter close to Aseera Al Shimaliyya village, near the West Bank city of Nablus.

An Israeli military source claimed that soldiers identified three fighters near the village, and engaged in a gun battle with them, killing one.

‘Soldiers were patrolling north of the West Bank city of Nablus and spotted three fighters’, the source stated, “Soldiers fired toward the fighters, and killed one”.

“One M-16 rifle was found near the body of the killed fighter”, army source reported.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency, WAFA identified the resident as Hilal Darwish Abu Za’rur, 24.

Abu Za’rus died after soldiers invaded the northern West Bank city of Nablus, earlier on Sunday at dawn, and opened fire at residents near Aseera al Shimaliyya checkpoint, WAFA reported.

 

Abu Za’rus sustained a gunshot injury in his head and thigh.

Also, soldiers fired at a medical team who arrived at the scene in order to evacuate the body of Abu Za’rur.

Israeli online daily Haaretz reported that the resident is a member of the Al Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fateh.
