Palestinian deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Dr. Nabil Shaath stated on Thursday that Israel is not dealing with the Palestinian Authority as a peace partner, and insists to resume its unilateral procedures in the West Bank without any coordination with the P.A.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that Shaath said that the Israeli government opposes to reach a P.A because such coordination would eventually lead to full withdrawal from the West Bank, which is an issue Israel is trying to avoid.

Also, Shaath stated that Israel is acting in order to intensify its occupation in the West Bank, and resumed its settlements activities and the construction of the Separation Wall in the occupied West Bank.

Referring to the planned visit of the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas to the United States, Shaath said that the P.A hopes that the American administration will exert utmost efforts to push the peace process forwards.
