A Palestinian security source in Gaza reported that two Palestinian children were killed after an undetonated shell apparently fired by the army went off east of Al Boreij refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip. The two children were identified as two brothers, Allam and Nidal Abu Al So’oud, 14 and 15 years old.
A medical source in Gaza reported that the bodies of the two children were severely mutilated; the explosion took place near their home close to the borders between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
Palestinian explosives experts were dispatched to the explosion area to examine the nature of the blast.
Meanwhile, an Israeli military source claimed that the army had nothing to do with the blast, the Israeli Ynetnews reported.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli artillery shelled several areas in the Gaza Strip; the areas are suspected of being used as launching pads for homemade shells.
