Palestinian security officials and officials the the Hamas movement reported on Saturday that one senior member of the Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, was seriously injured in the chest in a drive-by shooting in Gaza early on Saturday morning.
The Hamas member, identified as Hadi Siyam, 35, was first transferred to a Gaza hospital then he was transferred to a clinic which belongs to Hamas for security reasons, Abu Obeida, a Hamas spokesperson reported.
Siyam is wanted by Israel for his activities in Hamas’ military wing. Two months ago, he was fired at in the same neighborhood but managed to escape unharmed.
According to Palestinian security sources, Siyam is the cousin of the Palestinian Interior Minister, Sa’id Siyam. Hamas officials did not confirm the relationship.
