Israeli media sources reported that two Palestinian prisoners managed
to escape on Thursday morning from the Israeli Katziot detention camp
located in the Nigev desert in northern Israeli.

One of the prisoners was abducted next to the prison while the second was soon apprehended next to the Israel-Egypt borders.  Both prisoners are residents of Gaza and said to be Fatah members, the media sources added.

The two men apparrently escaped the detention camp after hanging a rope over the exterior wall of the camp.  Guards noticed the rope and immediately conducted a headcount of the detainees and found that the two are missing.  Soon after that, the Israeli army troops controlling the detention camp initiated a search campaign and caught the two escapees.

One of the men is serving 3 years for illegal living in Israeli and the other is serving 7 for being a member of Fatah movement.
