After Israeli media agencies published a video of the captured Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, the Al Qassam Brigades, one of three resistance groups holding him captive since June of 2006, issued an official statement denying any relation to this video.The Al Qassam brigades said that this new video is fabricated, and added that it did not issue any new documentation on Shalit.
In an official press release published on its website, the Al Qassam, the armed wing of Hamas, said that this video was likely be fabricated by the Israeli media itself, or by other groups adding, that the tape “contains untrue information”.
Some Israeli media outlets in Israel published a video showing two Qassam fighters standing next to Shalit while one of the fighters was holding a machine gun and another fighter telling a message, the Al Qassam reported.
The video also shows that, suddenly, the lights are off and gunshot sounds are heard in the background.
The Brigades said that any releases or documentations regarding the captured soldiers will only be made through the its official website, the Arabic or the English version, and not through any other means.
