Israeli troops prevented on Tuesday morning teachers and students from reaching their school, located near the illegal “Beit Hadassa” settlement, in the old city of Hebron, claiming the area is still closed due to the Jewish holidays, Palestine News & Info agency reported.School principle, Ibtisam Al-Junaidi, stated that the army prevented all the teachers and students from reaching the school from the main road leading to it.

Soldiers told Al-Junaidi that a decision was made to prevent anyone from passing through without being strip-searched and before passing through metal detectors.

The principle said that the teachers opposed this decision and protested in front of the checkpoint.

She also added that army kidnapped Mohammad Abu Dre’, an school official i and held two students identified as Duha Marresh and Suhad Abd el-Baset for several hours.
