Palestinian medical sources reported that several extremist Israeli settlers attacked, on Saturday afternoon, several Palestinians in the central West Bank district in Salfit, wounding four of them, including two women; one of the wounded men suffered serious injuries.The attack took place at the Mikhmas Junction, linking between the West Bank districts of Salfit and Ramallah.

Eyewitnesses reported that two women and two men, from Al Akoub village, were attacked by fundamentalist settlers carrying clubs, batons and iron chains, and suffered various concussions and bruises.

Medical sources said that resident Mohammad Az-Zeer suffered a serious injury due to a sharp blow to the head, while resident Raja’ Sabri Az-Zeer suffered fractures in her right arm and her left hand fingers.

Residents Hasan Salim Al-Oweidy, and Lamia Az-Zeer suffered minor concussions and bruises; the four wounded residents were moved to a local hospital.

Last week Tuesday, a Palestinian youth was shot in his leg by a fundamentalist Israeli settler in the Old City of Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank.
The youth, Mohammad Hisham Abu Iker, 18 years old, was admitted to surgery after being shot by a live round in his right foot.

His condition was described as moderate due to significant blood loss resulting from the injury. He was attacked by a group of armed fundamentalist settlers.

These assaults highlight a serious escalation in the severity of attacks carried out by the extremist settlers against the Palestinians, their land and property in the occupied West Bank, including in occupied East Jerusalem.
