The Israeli army revealed, Wednesday evening, that the soldiers kidnapped members of what was described as a “Palestinian cell” near Bethlehem.Members of the group are from Beit Fajjar town, near the central West bank city of Bethlehem; they were taken prisoner last December, and were recently indicted.
Israel claims that the “cell members” confessed that they opened fire on an Israeli settlement bus in Gush Etzion settlement bloc, and that, in November of last year, they opened fire towards Migdal settlement.
The kidnapped Palestinians are allegedly behind a number of attacks against the army, while Israel also claims they planned several other attacks against Israeli targets.
Arabic language Israeli online daily, Arabil, said that one of the arrested Palestinians is Ali Mohammad Shukri, 24, a Palestinian policeman allegedly involved in the two shooting attacks, in addition to resident Mohammad Yousef Taqatqa, 22, a member of the Palestinian Presidential Guard.
