[Friday January 3, 2014] Israel has conducted, today, a successful experiment of the ‘Arrow 3’ missile interceptor, the second of a series of missile tests being conducted jointly with the United States.Arabs48 reports that the experiment took place at 8 am this morning, at a training center in central Israel, under the supervision of the Department of Homeland Security with the participation of Israeli and U.S. agency for missile defense ‘MDA’, according to the Yediot Ahronot news agency.
The Arrow 3 was launched in a previous experiment at Ppelmahim military base, where for 6 minutes its peak exceeded the atmosphere and, then, opened the second engine of the rocket.
The purpose of the Arrow 3 is to back up the ‘Arrow 2’, prepared to intercept ‘Shahab’ Iranian missiles, in case of failure.
