The Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS), Tuesday, said that prisoner Kifah Hattab has suspended his open ended hunger strike, which began 50 days ago in demand of being treated as a war prisoner.According to to WAFA, PPS’s lawyer said in a press release that Hattab, who is currently being hospitalized at Afula Hospital, informed him about his intention to end his hunger strike after he was able to secure a deal with the Israeli prison authorities.

According to Hattab through his lawyer, the deal stipulates that the prison authorities meet all of Hattab’s demands, including being treated as a war prisoner.

Hattab is a Palestinian prisoner who has been sentenced to serve two life imprisonments. He launched several hunger strikes in the past three years in order to be recognized as a war prisoner.
