On Monday, Israeli occupation forces persist in their offensive against the city of Jenin and its Jenin camp, for the 126th day, intensifying destruction and bulldozing operations aimed at altering its landscape and infrastructure.

Since the beginning of the offensive nearly four months ago, around 22,000 residents have been displaced from the refugee camp and its surrounding areas, creating significant humanitarian and economic challenges, according to Jenin Mayor Mohammad Jarar.

Jarar stated that displaced residents now account for 25% of the city’s total population, exacerbating difficulties across economic, social, environmental, service, and health sectors.

He estimated the damage inflicted by the ongoing Israeli offensive at approximately $300 million, emphasizing that the occupation is deliberately carrying out widespread destruction to render the camp and its surroundings uninhabitable.

Jarar added that occupation forces have completely demolished Jenin refugee camp’s infrastructure.

Municipal estimates indicate that 600 homes have been destroyed, with partial damage to remaining residences. Additionally, 4,000 workers have lost their livelihoods due to the ongoing assault.

Despite the devastation, municipal teams have begun reconstruction efforts in several areas of Jenin, working to repave and repair entrances to facilitate civilian access. They have also initiated repairs on key roads such as Al-Nasira and Al-Bayader streets.

In the eastern neighborhood, the water network has been fully restored, and half of the sewage system repairs have been completed at a cost of 17 million shekels. The municipality has also rehabilitated the road behind Ibn Sina Hospital in the city center.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Israeli forces have abducted approximately 1,000 residents from Jenin and Tulkarem over the past four months, including those who were later released.

On Sunday, Israeli forces detained four young men from the town of Qabatia following house invasions and violent searches.

Meanwhile, military vehicles stormed the town of Burqin to the west, where troops stormed a fuel station.

In Jenin city itself, Israeli soldiers stationed near Jenin Governmental Hospital abducted a young Palestinian man.

Villages across Jenin governorate continue to experience near-daily invasions as the assault on the city and refugee camp persists, with frequent military activity in most villages and a constant presence of occupation patrols and vehicles.

Israeli forces continue to deploy reinforcements into Jenin refugee camp and its surroundings, maintaining heavy gunfire within the area.

So far, the ongoing assault has resulted in the killing of 40 Palestinians and more than 200 injuries in the Jenin governorate.

Since the beginning of this year, Israeli soldiers have killed 146 Palestinians, including 26 children and 5 women in the occupied West Bank.

57 Palestinian were killed in Jenin, 25 in Tubas, 25 in Nablus, 14 in Tulkarem, 6 in Hebron, 5 in Bethlehem, 4 in Ramallah, 4 in Jerusalem, 2 in Qalqilia and 3 in Salfit.
