Israeli occupation forces continue their assault on Tulkarem, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and Tulkarem refugee camp for the 100th consecutive day, while the invasion of Nur Shams refugee camp has now entered its 87th day. The prolonged offensive has caused extensive destruction, significant human losses, and widespread displacement, as military operations escalate across the region.

On Tuesday, the army began destroying 106 Palestinian buildings as part of an ongoing assault.

Military Presence and Home Invasions

Throughout the night and into the early morning, Israeli armored vehicles and infantry units moved aggressively through Tulkarem’s main streets and residential areas, particularly around Thabet Thabet Roundabout, as well as Al-Haddadin, Al-Alami, Nablus Street, and Shweika.

The soldiers restricted civilian movement, obstructed traffic, and engaged in violent confrontations, firing live ammunition and stun grenades.

Israeli forces invaded multiple homes, abducting Ahed Fathallah Al-Hamshari, an officer in the Palestinian Civil Defense, from his home in the eastern neighborhood, and Wisam Issam Awda from his home in the southern neighborhood.

Additionally, soldiers stormed the home of former political prisoner Hadi Al-Hamshari, director of Political and National Guidance in Tulkarem, vandalizing its contents during the invasion.

Siege and Systematic Destruction

For 100 days, Israeli forces have maintained a suffocating siege on Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camp, carrying out repeated invasions and deliberate attacks on homes and infrastructure. The military has converted several residential areas into military outposts, forcibly displacing families and blocking entrances with dirt mounds.

The scale of destruction has been immense, with hundreds of homes demolished, businesses looted, and entire neighborhoods transformed into militarized zones.

Earlier reports indicated that, starting Monday night, Israeli forces planned to demolish 58 buildings in Tulkarem refugee camp and 48 homes in Nur Shams refugee camp, marking the targeted structures in red on distributed maps and instructing residents to evacuate.

Tulkarem Governor Abdullah Kamil condemned the demolitions, calling on international human rights organizations to intervene and halt Israel’s unprecedented aggression against Tulkarem, Nur Shams, and the city itself.

He urged the international community to pressure Israel to stop the ongoing destruction, which has led to mass displacement, severe damage to infrastructure, and worsening siege conditions.

The Israeli army had announced its intention to demolish 106 building, distributing maps that marked targeted locations in red and handing copies to Palestinian authorities. The plan was first declared last Thursday.

In Nur Shams refugee camp, eyewitnesses reported the destruction of multi-story homes in the Al-Manshiyya neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued their invasions, storming homes, ransacking properties, and carrying out arrests across Palestinian towns and refugee camps.

Israeli officials claim the demolitions are aimed at “modifying infrastructure” within refugee camps by opening new roads and pathways to facilitate military control and further invasions.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has condemned the demolitions, calling them collective punishment that threatens to displace thousands of Palestinian refugees in the northern West Bank.

The demolitions are part of Israel’s “Iron Wall” offensive, launched in January 2025, which has led to widespread destruction, particularly in Jenin refugee camp.

Since January 21, 2025, Israeli forces have expanded their military offensive from Jenin to Tulkarem, launching an invasion on January 27, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of homes, buildings, and infrastructure, as well as the displacement of tens of thousands of residents.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces have killed 131 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 24 children and 5 women, according to the Shireen Observatory.
