Israeli soldiers attacked, on Friday, Palestinian protestors, east of Gaza City, in the northern part of the besieged Gaza strip, shooting nine, and injuring dozens of others.

Dozens of Palestinians gathered near eastern border of Gaza, east of Gaza City, along the so-called “security fence” which separates the Gaza Strip from Israel.

Israeli forces, positioned along the fence opened fire at demonstrators who burned rubber tires and waved the flag of Palestine, in a non-violent display of their rejection of the continued crimes of the occupation.

Soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel rounds, and tear gas canisters at the non-violent protestors, shooting and injuring at least nine, the Ministry of Health confirmed.

At least one young man was shot with live ammunition in the leg, while eight others were shot with rubber-coated steel rounds, including one in the back.

Media sources added that dozens of other participants sustained inhalation injuries as a result of tear gas exposure.
