On Tuesday, an Israeli drone strike killed five Palestinians, including a woman and her daughter, and shot others in the Tulkarem refugee camp in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said that before dawn Tuesday an Israeli drone targeted a group of citizens, killing five, including two women, in the Al-Hamam neighborhood in the Tulkarem refugee camp.
The slain citizens were identified as Ashraf Eid Zaher Nafe’, 20, Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Awad, 31, Mohammad Badea’ Mohammad Radwan, 36, and the two women, Eman Abdullah Salem, 56, and her daughter, Bayan Mohammad Jom’a Eid, 22.
Sources added that that soldiers confiscated the bodies of four of the slain citizens, while ambulance crews transported the body of 56-year-old, Eman Abdullah Salem, to hospital.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that it transferred the body of a female and three young men who sustained shrapnel wounds, including one in the eye, to the Martyr Thabet Thabet Hospital.
The PRCS added that occupation forces preventing ambulance crews from entering the Tulkarem camp and targeted them directly.
Sources added that Israeli forces fired smoke bombs at journalists at the entrance to the camp; no injuries were reported.
Videos were published showing the Israeli soldiers picking up the bodies with a bulldozer and carrying them to an unknown location, in a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
Media sources said that the Israeli assassination operation targeted Ashraf Eid Zaher Nafe’, the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, in addition to Mohammad Badea’ Mohammad Radwan, and Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Awad, two commanders in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
The Israeli army and Shin Bet security agency claimed that Nafe’ was responsible for preparing and planting explosive devices, and alleged that Awad was involved in shooting attacks.
On Monday evening a large military force, accompanied by several bulldozers, invaded the city of Tulkarem, from its western entrance, and imposed a tight siege on the city, amid the overhead flight of reconnaissance drones, followed by military reinforcements.
On Monday night, occupation forces shot a Palestinian young man in the chest with live ammunition, causing moderate to serious injuries, and before dawn occupation soldiers shot a 30-year-old man in the abdomen, thigh, and hand with live rounds in the Tulkarem refugee camp; he was transported to hospital for treatment.
Israeli bulldozers carried out a large-scale vandalism operation inside the Tulkarem camp, destroying infrastructure, including streets and commercial shops, in addition to citizens’ homes and vehicles.
Media sources added that during the 16-hour-long invasion, the army stormed and searched many citizens’ homes, detaining and interrogating their inhabitants; no abductions were reported.
The army’s destruction of vital infrastructure caused several interruptions to electricity, water, and internet services in the city and the Tulkarem camp.
In the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron, Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinian young men identified as Jihad Mohammad Hussein Shalalda, 39, and Ramez Mohammad Halayqa, 22.
Israeli forces have now killed 585 Palestinian civilians, including 140 children, and injured more than 5,350 others, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
